Israel is a partner in the London office and has over 20 years of investment banking experience advising financial services companies. He has worked with banks, insurers, and asset managers on a wide variety of M&A, equity, and debt transactions.
Israel's recent experience includes advising Generali Assicurazioni on the acquisition of Liberty Mutual's Western European operations, Liberbank on its merger with Unicaja Banco, Caixabank on the public tender offer for Banco BPI, and Helvetia Group on the acquisition of Caser.
Post-financial crisis, Israel advised on numerous recapitalizations and restructurings for Southern European clients, including Banco Monte Dei Paschi, Banco Santander, Banco Popular Español, Banco Sabadell, Bankia, Bankinter, Novo Banco, Banco Mare Nostrum, and Liberbank.
Over the last two decades, Israel has advised on more than 40 successfully completed M&A transactions, mainly in the insurance sector, for a variety of clients including Aviva, Helvetia, Generali, Mapfre, ZIG, Catalana Occidente, Old Mutual, Liberty Mutual, Abbey Life, Canada Life, Groupama, AXA, and others.
Israel started his career at Deloitte in 2002 in Spain and joined Deutsche Bank's FIG EMEA team in London in 2006. Prior to joining Centerview in 2024, Israel was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse and Co-Head EMEA of the Financial Institutions Group.
Israel hols a BBS degree from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid.
