Nolan Scaperotti is a member of the firm’s technology investment banking practice, with a focus on vertical and industrial software and technology. He has 15+ years of experience across industries and since joining Centerview in 2014 has advised clients across a range of strategic and financial situations including M&A, portfolio review, special committee and board advisory, capital allocation, investor communications and activism defense.
Representative technology transactions include: Emerson Electric’s ~$17bn structured acquisition of Aspen Technology, its $8.6 acquisition of National Instruments and its $1.6 billion acquisition of Open Systems International; Trimble’s sale of its Mobility business to Platform Science and its contribution of its Agriculture business to a JV with AGCO in a $3bn transaction; Squarespace’s $7.2bn sale to Permira (Special Committee of Board of Squarespace); Apax’s strategic investment in ECI Software Solutions; Advent’s strategic investment in Prometheus Group; Motorola Solutions’ acquisition of Rave Mobile Safety; Fleet Complete’s sale to PowerFleet; Endurance International Group’s $3.0 billion sale to Clearlake; Cision’s $2.7 billion sale to Platinum Equity; West Corp’s $5.1 billion sale to Apollo; Solera’s $6.5 billion sale to Vista Equity Partners (Special Committee of Board of Solera); and Mikro Systems’ sale to Pratt & Whitney.
In other sectors, Nolan advised on Emerson’s sale of a majority stake in its Climate Technologies business to Blackstone in a transaction valued at $14 billion; Sanderson Farms’ $4.5 billion sale to Cargill and Continental Grain and defense against an unsolicited acquisition attempt by Durational Capital Management; Purolite’s $3.7bn sale to Ecolab; and HSNi’s $2.7 billion merger with Liberty Interactive/QVC.
Prior to joining Centerview, Nolan was an investment banker at Barclays where he focused on M&A advisory, and was a member of the Securities and Finance Practice of NERA Economic Consulting.
Nolan holds a BA in mathematics and economics from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
