Stefan Neata has spent his career advising clients across a diverse range of industries on strategic and M&A matters, including buy-side, sell-side, spin-outs/carve-outs, portfolio reviews, investor messaging, and shareholder activism situations. At Centerview, Mr. Neata is a leading advisor in the general industrials sector, where he focuses on life sciences tools and industrial software.
Mr. Neata has advised on over $200 billion of transactions during his career, including: Purolite on its $3.7 billion sale to Ecolab, Casdin Capital on its platform investment in Fluidigm, PTC on its $1.45 billion acquisition of ServiceMax and on its $715 million acquisition of Arena Solutions, Emerson on its $11 billion acquisition of a controlling interest in Aspen Technology, Johnson Controls on its $13 billion divestiture of Power Solutions and its $16.5 billion merger with Tyco, Dover on its spin-off of Apergy, Canadian National on its proposed $29.6 billion combination with Kansas City Southern, R.R. Donnelley on its separation into three separate public companies and its proposed sale to a Chatham Asset Management, and 21st Century Fox on its $85 billion sale to The Walt Disney Company and related separation of new Fox.
Prior to joining Centerview, Mr. Neata worked as an attorney in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Davis Polk & Wardwell.
Mr. Neata received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science (with honors) from the University of Toronto and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. Mr. Neata resides in New York with his wife and three children.
